It’s So True

We live in a world where everybody seems to have an answer before the question is even finished.

We talk. We argue. We defend what we believe. Sometimes we become so determined to prove we’re right that we forget to stop long enough to ask ourselves one simple question:

What if we’re wrong?

“It’s So True” is a song about slowing down, listening, watching, and allowing the truth enough time to reveal itself.

There is truth all around us, but there are falsities too. Sometimes separating the two isn’t nearly as difficult as we make it. Truth has one enormous advantage, it doesn’t have to remember what it said yesterday.

A lie does.

One lie needs another to support it, then another to explain that one, until eventually the story becomes harder to remember than the truth ever was.

There’s an old lesson behind the song too:

A fish doesn’t get caught until it opens its mouth.

Sometimes we learn more by saying less. Listen with your ears instead of your mouth. Watch what people do, not only what they say. Give things time. And don’t be afraid to question something simply because you’ve believed it for a long time.

Because what we think is true and what is true aren’t always the same thing.

Truth doesn’t need to shout. It doesn’t need an alibi. It doesn’t need another story to hold it together.

Sometimes it just needs us to be quiet long enough to notice it.

Listen. Watch. Think. Give it time.

You might be surprised by what you discover.

And when the pieces finally fall into place...

It’s So True.
